Sylvain Besençon

Sylvain Besençon is a PhD candidate at the Social Anthropology Unit of the University of Fribourg. His PhD thesis explores the social fabric of information security through the case study of OpenPGP, an IETF cryptographic standard mostly used for email encryption and authentication. His ethnography focuses on the (in)securitization processes affecting the standard and its implementations and aims at analysing how digital infrastructure are taking care of.
